Movie-Night 115 x 100

Forbidden Planet is a sci-fi movie that actually frightened me. I’m not sure how old I was when I first saw it. Featuring well known actors this movie was a major production. I have watched Forbidden Planet a few times since I was a kid and still enjoy seeing it. Robbie the robot was fascinating to me. One of my favorite movies.

South East Theater

Forbidden planet is one of those movies that I saw for free at the South East theater in Sugarhouse. I think I was only 9 or 10 years old when I first watched this movie. I believe this movie and the other science fiction movies that were presented at the South East theater helped me to understand the difference between what is real and what was imaginary.

The free Movies that were presented on Saturdays where is sponsored by the retail businesses that were in the Sugarhouse area. The idea was that if the children are busy at the movies the parents could go shopping without interference. All in all it worked out very well.
