Site Update

Published by Scott on

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the past few weeks working on my website. There are so many options that I can use. I have been trying different plugins to see which one’s work the best. Sometimes when I change plugins everything quits working and I have to decide which one plugin is causing the problem. The theme I am using is Hestia, it’s very sophisticated and easy to use. The theme looks like I designed it especially for me and what I want my website presence to look like.

Options in Media Use

I like to use a lot of photographs on my website so I have been trying different carousel and gallery plugins to see which one I like the best and has the options I like. There is a built in new block editor that WordPress has incorporated it works well but it’s not very sophisticated. By selecting different plugins for my gallery, I think I found one I like. The plugins I tried each have things I like but are sometimes resource heavy and too sophisticated for my needs. The plugin I am using now is FooGallery. FooGallery is simple enough to use and produces nice galleries and slide shows.

Besides choosing a gallery plugin, I have also been working on updating some of my previous posts to make them more search engine readable. My older posts allow me to add new graphics and pictures, making my old posts work better with my current theme.

Did I write that?

When I read the words, I used in some of my old posts I sometimes wonder if it was really me that created those posts. Most of the pages are very informative. It’s a good way for me to refresh my memories about things I was doing 10 or 12 years ago.

I need to work on updating the static pages on my website. Some information on those pages is old and stale. One problem I have with updating those pages is I don’t know what else to say. I would have to rethink what I want to say to visitors before I attempt to rewrite those pages.
